Aloe Vera

Has played a role in healing for thousands of years.  That slimy gel inside its leaves has tremendous healing properties both to the skin and to the digestive system.  It soothes and calms down inflammation.  It relieves pain and itching and acts as a natural barrier against infection.  Studies have shown that Aloe Vera can be very effective at treating psoriasis.  It absorbs into the skin much more quickly than water.  Pure Aloe Vera has a natural SPF of about 20.

Coconut Oil

Has a long list of nutritional virtues.  It possesses healing properties far superior to other dietary oils.  It is a rich source of vitamins and minerals.  It is antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and a great antioxidant.  It supports the natural chemical balance of the skin.  Coconut oil is the highest dietary source of medium chain triglycerides (MCT), which have very positive health benefits.  Lauric acid (a MCT in coconut oil) is a natural disinfectant. It is particularly beneficial in treating problematic skin issues such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.  Coconut oil has a natural SPF of about 5-8.  NOTE:  Coconut oil liquefies in temperatures at or above 76 degrees.  At lower temperatures it is a white solid.  We only use high quality, organic, cooking grade coconut oil.  Other cosmetic companies typically use the cosmetic grade coconut oil, which is lesser quality and has been refined, bleached and deodorized (RBD).

Avocado Oil

This heart-healthy oil contains phytosterols, poly and mono-unsaturated fats which make it highly anti-inflammatory.  It is also a good source of vitamins C and E, and other vitamins and minerals.  Avocado oil penetrates deep into the skin providing both a moisturizer and protective barrier.  It has been used to treat skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis and diaper rashes. Avocado has a natural SPF of 10-15.

Green Tea

Contains powerful antioxidants called catechins.  Oxidation caused by free radicals is one of the main causes of damage to the body’s cells, leaving them more susceptible to disease and aging.  The catechins in green tea help to protect cells from oxidation.

Grapefruit Seed Extract

Contains highly potent bioflavonoids that are antimicrobial.  GSE is a natural antiseptic and can be very beneficial for minor skin problems.  It also contains several antioxidants.

Vitamin C

Is a strong antioxidant and it acts as a natural preservative.  It helps to build collagen in the skin, which helps to maintain the skin’s strength and elasticity. It is also an important factor in wound healing.

Vitamin E

Acts as a natural preservative in oils.  It is also a strong antioxidant.  It helps to protect cell membranes, which are the protective barriers around all of the body’s cells.

Tea Tree Oil

Is an essential oil from the Melaleuca tree/shrub, which is native to Australia and New Zealand.  It has been used for hundreds of years for various skin problems.  It has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral qualities.

Carrot Seed Oil

Like most of the other ingredients, carrot seed oil has many qualities that  contribute to a more youthful skin appearance.  The main reason for using it in our products is that it has a very high natural SPF of about 35-40.
